A citrus fruit grown under the Calabrian sun
At Aimée de Mars, we select an Italian bergamot (Citrus bergamia), grown in Calabria, the historic birthplace of this exceptional fruit.
The bergamot trees benefit from a mild climate, between sea and mountains, which promotes the development of their fruits. When ripe, the bergamots are harvested and their peel is gently cold-pressed to extract an essential oil of great freshness, while preserving the richness of its aromatic molecules.
Each harvest is the result of a balance between the climate, the terroir, and the expertise of the producers. Care taken at every step reveals the full delicacy of this ingredient.

Bergamot is the fruit of the bergamot tree (citrus bergamia). Mainly grown in Calabria, it is renowned for the exceptional quality of its essential oil.

Bergamot essential oil is obtained by mechanical expression of the peel (sfumatrice). This method preserves all the freshness and aromatic richness of the fruit.
