The Damask Rose
valérie demarsFive things to know about the Damask rose, the secret to peaceful skin and a mantra!
In the name of the rose... In May, the queen of the garden fills our homes with fragrance, but not only... This diamond deserves our attention in one of its varieties, I name the Damask rose. Among our favorite ingredients, this precious elixir has a special place, and for good reason. No need to be under a bell jar like in a famous fairy tale to unleash all its powers. As good for the skin as for the morale, the Damask rose is available in all sauces (or rather in all floral waters and essential oils) to fully benefit from its active ingredients.
What are the virtues of the Damask rose? Aimée de Mars unrolls a carpet of petals for you to discover in her rose garden all about this essential flower that seduces sensitive and romantic souls!
A point on its origins
Did you know that the Damask rose honors floral heritage and has survived the centuries without fading. A symbol of femininity and love par excellence, it was during the Crusades that this essential flower was imported, straight from the rose gardens of the Orient, particularly Syria. Now cultivated in Berber soil, it flourishes in the light and heat to exult in its power and captivating fragrance. In France, this delicate and wild rose, nicknamed the "Apothecaries' Rose," became a staple in the Middle Ages in ointment recipes and skin remedies. Since then, it has never deserted the cosmetics market. This rose has nothing to envy its cousins, who should be ashamed of its assets, from which natural cosmetics experts and master perfumers make the most of it to design exceptional products that should captivate the hearts of noble and wild souls.

Anti-dark circles asset
Dark circles... These marks around the eyes that make us realize that a little rest would be a plus. It's time to act! While fatigue seems the most plausible reason for the appearance of dark circles, there are actually many other factors that come into play. Stress, pollution, smoking, poor lifestyle... all promote the proliferation of these marks under the eyes, starting at the age of 25. Ouch, that stings! Remember that the eye area is an extremely sensitive area, 4 times thinner than the rest of the face. Bluish or even black for darker skin, dark circles are purely and simply the result of poor blood circulation. To fight dark circles, there's nothing like a little Damask Rose to decongest the eyes and give them a smoldering look. After cleansing your skin, soak a cotton pad in Damask Rose hydrosol and then apply it under puffy, tired eyes. Result? Signs of fatigue are a thing of the past!

Menstrual companion
Damask rose hydrosol has traditionally been used as a remedy for menstrual pain, particularly painful cramps, but until recently, these properties were not scientifically confirmed. This has now been confirmed, as a recent study has demonstrated the benefits of Damask rose on premenstrual symptoms, particularly in teenage girls.
