Bakuchiol is the plant-based alternative to retinol. Extracted from Babchi seeds ( Psoralea Corylifolia) , this exceptional active ingredient is ideal for combating skin aging: it firms the skin and smooths fine lines. Effective against imperfections, it stimulates collagen production: it regulates, repairs and purifies without attacking the skin.

The oily flower macerates (rose, immortelle, lavender, and yarrow) are created through the action of solarization. For 21 days, the sun's rays are captured by the vegetable oils and enter into synergy with the plant's vibrations. The active ingredients of each plant are extracted under the action of the sun while preserving their energies.

What are the benefits of bakuchiol on the skin?

Several studies have shown that bakuchiol, regardless of skin type, has a positive effect on wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, firmness and skin elasticity. In short, it is a natural, effective and non-irritating anti-aging treatment. In addition, this treatment significantly improves the stimulation of collagen while being ultra-antioxidant and thus protecting the skin against imperfections caused by free radicals.

Unlike retinol (otherwise known as vitamin A), there is no risk of skin irritation or the appearance of spots. Not having the same irritating properties as retinol, bakuchiol is a photostable treatment and can therefore be used in the morning.

Finally, bakuchiol poses no risk to pregnant or breastfeeding women. And again, bakuchiol has positive effects on all skin types.

When should you use your face serum?

The face serum is applied twice a day, morning and evening, before applying your moisturizer. The serum is always applied after cleansing the skin. Indeed, the preliminary cleaning of the skin unclogs the pores. In this way, the active ingredients contained in your serum can act more deeply within your skin and have reinforced effects. How to apply your face serum?

4 or 5 drops are enough because the Aimée de Mars serum is a very concentrated product. It is recommended to collect the drops in the palm of the hand and not on the face. Indeed, by coming into direct contact with your skin, the serum risks being altered, which will then have negative effects on its effectiveness. The second step in applying your serum is to heat it up in your palms. More precisely, perform circular gestures palm against palm, in order to optimize its effectiveness. The next step is to apply the serum to each area of your face using gentle tapping while applying draining pressure with the palms of your hands. Indeed, this allows a better penetration of the active ingredients of your serum into your facial skin. Finally, we recommend repeating these steps for your neck and décolleté, two particularly fragile areas. The last step is to apply your moisturizer!
