Indulgence in all its nuances
Its scent is warm, soft, and infinitely nuanced. You can find notes of almond, vanilla, caramel, freshly cut hay, sometimes highlighted with a spicy touch. An olfactory richness that gently envelops the fragrance without ever making it too sweet.
Originating from South America, the tonka bean has become one of the key ingredients in contemporary perfumery. It adds roundness to compositions and creates trails that are warm, elegant, and deeply addictive.
Its fragrance evokes a natural sweetness, one that reassures without ever becoming tiresome.

A precious seed revealed by time
At Aimée de Mars, we select a tonka bean (Dipteryx odorata) harvested in Brazil.
The fruit of the Brazilian teak tree contains a seed with remarkable olfactory qualities. After harvesting, the beans are dried for several months. During this maturation, they naturally develop coumarin crystals that give them their distinctive scent.
This long preparation requires patience and expertise. Each step helps to reveal the aromatic richness of the bean while preserving its complexity.
Like all materials selected by Aimée de Mars, the tonka bean is chosen with care, respecting its origin and the women and men who cultivate it.
A material that brings softness and elegance
In perfumery, tonka bean is a particularly precious base ingredient.
It softens woods, warms spices, extends floral accords, and enhances amber notes. Its scent acts as a link between different materials, bringing a sensation of softness and harmony to the entire composition.
On the skin, its facets evolve slowly. The initial notes of almond and hay gradually give way to a creamier, slightly vanilla and balsamic sweetness that accompanies the fragrance for many hours.
In Aimée de Mars creations, tonka bean brings a delicate warmth and comforting depth that elegantly prolong the trail.
