Clary Sage

At Aimée de Mars, the essence of Clary Sage comes from France.

Originally from Western Asia, Clary Sage is now mainly cultivated in France, Russia, and the United States. The Clary Sage harvest takes place during the flowering period, in August.

Known in Europe since the year 800, Clary Sage is hardy and very aromatic.

Priests, alchemists, and healers in Europe believed that this plant helped to better distinguish good from evil and to develop maturity and wisdom. Considered a treasure of the gods, it was used to ward off spirits.

  • RELAXANT

Clary sage has relaxing properties. It relieves physical and mental fatigue.

  • HEART NOTE

The Heart notes give the perfume its deep identity. Mostly composed of floral notes, it develops between 15 minutes and 4 hours.

  • AN ESSENTIAL OIL

The leaves can be extracted fresh or dry. Depending on the extraction method used, we can obtain an essential oil or an absolute. The Clary Sage essential oil is, however, more commonly used than the absolute.
