Parfums naturels : ma nouvelle voie olfactive

Natural perfumes: my new olfactory path

valérie demars

What distinguishes natural perfumery from synthetic perfume?

The fragrance composition (the concentrate in our jargon) of a conventional perfume represents around 15% of the final fragrance for eau de parfum. This concentrate is made up of 80% synthetic products, that is to say, petroleum-derived products!

In a natural eau de parfum , the concentrate is made up of at least 80 to 100% natural notes.

There are no endocrine disruptors like chemical filters, dyes, or phthalates. And the alcohol is certified organic.

It is interesting to know that the Organic standard allows denaturants such as diethyl phthalate or bitrex. For our part, we have banned synthetic denaturants.

It's a bit like market cuisine prepared with love using fresh, living produce and a cheeseburger prepared industrially...

One will bring you vital energy and lead to health, the other will clog you up...

After all, everyone has the right to have a different opinion and desire, and if you opt for a conventional perfume, I therefore advise you not to apply it to the skin.

The creation of a natural and organic perfume

It is important to know that the perfumer who creates natural perfumes only has 400 notes at his disposal, while the palette of the conventional perfumer is wider: around 4000 references.

But constraint is a source of creativity!

We also cannot use animal materials because our perfumes are certified Vegan, nor synthetic musks. We therefore have to create our compositions differently, around combinations of essential oils.

The difficulties of 100% natural formulation

If the palette is limited, it is true that there is still another difficulty: the durability of the perfumes over time. So we will use hibiscus derivatives for the trail or wood essences such as cedar, sandalwood, oud… which will help us to substitute synthetic musks and ensure a trail and good durability for the composition.

Finally, the last difficulty is the price of the concentrate used in the composition of natural perfumes. It is important to know that a natural concentrate is 10 to 15 times more expensive than a synthetic concentrate.

Indeed, this comes from the price of the raw materials themselves, for example, organic bergamot essential oil is 350€/KG, rose absolute between 3000 and 5000€/kg. The price of organic sandalwood is around 3000€/kg and the price of jasmine absolute is 5000€/KG. Vanilla extract, which also helps us with oriental perfumes, is around 1000€/kg...

Additionally, since our perfumes are vegan, we do not use ambergris or beeswax.

What is the difference between a natural perfume and a certified perfume?

Natural perfume contains at least 95% ingredients of natural origin, which is already very good.

To go further and be certified, you must use 100% natural ingredients.

Certified means that the brand is controlled by an independent body, it is an additional guarantee of safety and traceability.

There are two possible specifications for perfume:

Cosmebio Cosmos natural specifications: essential and absolute oils are authorized

Cosmebio Cosmos Bio specifications: only essential oils are authorized and must be organic and absolutes are prohibited.

For us, it is still difficult to do without beautiful notes such as benzoin resinoid or jasmine or tonka bean absolute, which is why we have chosen the Cosmos Naturel certification.

Taking care of the planet and our body ecosystem

I create organic and natural perfumes that smell good and make us feel good.

I assemble plants to convey my message: that of the unconditional love of the Earth, of water, of plants towards us.

Transmitting their energy, their vibration in a perfume, that is my mission.

To convey the beauty of a place, the message and the particular benefit of a flower to guide or heal us.

What is Aromaparfumerie®?

What is important to me is to create perfumes that make us feel good: aromaparfumerie ® is the combination of an active heart of 21 organic essential oils and spring water.

Organic bergamot essential oil brings a smile to your face, the rose note allows for perfect alignment between the first and last chakras through the heart, organic cedar anchors us to the earth….

As the Little Prince said: "What is essential is invisible to the eyes, we only see clearly with the heart."

I would like to be able to share these first notes with you, to share the vibration of organic rose or bergamot.

So I encourage you to go smell Belle Rose and give me your opinion. Where do you feel its action in your body?

Similarly, for Divine Emeraude , what note does it evoke for you? Where do you think this fragrance has the greatest effect?

Smell, the only sense that does not access consciousness!

It's true that smell does not reach our consciousness but our unconscious: it passes through our limbic brain, the part of the brain which is the seat of our emotions (aggression, fear, pleasure, etc.), it is also there that our memory is formed (hence the memories which resurface just by smelling a perfume).

Smell is the sense of the emotional and unconscious world.

Smell triggers a sensation but also neurotransmitters; dopamine, serotonin... depending on the materials. For example, mint and lemon will be stimulating and lavender will be calming due to its richness in linalool.

How does a perfume reveal our nature?

Aromaparfumerie ® is based on the principles of olfactotherapy, which Gilles Fournil speaks so well about: using the smell and vibration of essential oils to contact our memories of the past and (sometimes suffering) and generate their transformation.

Maintaining suffering also relies on wanting to change oneself or others. By working with plants: essential oils, we connect suffering and healing comes through the end of "wanting to change", stopping the struggle, accepting oneself with one's shadow and light without change.

Let us look at the plant: the cedar does not imitate the hazel. The rose is not unhappy to cause pain with its thorns and its perfume is love.

The vibration of essential oils transmits to us the message of the plant world: let us accept ourselves as we are.

Better accept ourselves and therefore better love ourselves as we are. And if necessary, change will happen slowly over time.
